The Pharmacists' Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL) is a non-profit corporation established under the Corporations Act and mandated under provincial legislation. The Pharmacists' Association is the professional association representing pharmacists in Newfoundland and Labrador and, as such, is responsible for promoting the profession of pharmacy and its members throughout the province.
A Council comprising of 9 members elected from the general membership, governs the Association. As a means of providing accessible representation, the Province is divided into three (3) geographical zones and one (1) hospital zone.

Zone 1 shall be designated the "Eastern Zone" and shall be comprised of all of the Avalon Peninsula and all of the Burin Peninsula up to and including Goobies and east. This Zone shall elect three (3) Council Members. | |

Zone 2 shall be designated the "Central Zone" and shall be comprised of the area west of Goobies including the Bonavista Peninsula, Grand Falls-Windsor, Buchans and that part of the South Coast that does not include Burgeo and Ramea. This Zone shall elect two (2) Council Members. | |

Zone 3 shall be designated the "Western Zone" and shall be comprised of the area west of Grand Falls-Windsor, including the Baie Verte Peninsula, White Bay, the Northern Peninsula, Labrador, the west coast extending to Port-aux-Basques and that part of the south coast that includes Burgeo and Ramea. This Zone shall elect two (2) Council Members. | |

Zone 4 shall be designated as the "Hospital Pharmacists" Zone. This Zone shall elect two (2) Council Members from among licensed hospital pharmacists. A Hospital Pharmacist is defined as a pharmacist who is registered as per their primary occupation in a hospital or institution. |

New Practitioner shall be a voting member of Council who has been licensed to practice not more than 5 years. All “regular” members of the Association are eligible to nominate a candidate in this category. | |
|
Student Representative shall be a non-voting member of Council who must be currently enrolled in MUN’s School of Pharmacy. |
